Dr. Kimberly Renee Gillens is a board-eligible obstetrician and gynecologist with expertise in sexual health education and African American maternal morbidity and mortality. She specializes in minimally invasive surgery, especially robotics.
Dr. Gillens enjoys forming trusting and lasting relationships with her patients, helping them accomplish their goals of care in safe and practical ways using evidence-based medicine. As an African-American woman from the south, she provides a safe space for all populations.
She decided to pursue a career in obstetrics and gynecology because she noticed a general misunderstanding of the female reproductive system growing up, leading to unplanned teenage pregnancies and other health issues. Becoming an OBGYN has allowed her to help women live their best and healthiest lives.
Outside of work, Dr. Gillens enjoys traveling to different countries and exploring the arts. She also enjoys spending quality time with her family, including her dog Aaliyah Grace, aka “her baby girl.”
